awrestlingtumblr: turnbucklezine: I don’t see a reason to take this guy’s genuine fandom to task over a semantic like “fake…” I don’t see anything wrong with calling it fake. The matches are preplanned, the characters and feelings are rarely related to the real people, the storylines are obviously faked, the moves are choreographed. To me, the art of wrestling is just making you care...

wrestling-is-fake: bradleyharvey: Yes, I’m 18 and I still watch WWE. Yes, I know it’s choreographed/scripted. But it’s a mans soap opera. The things that happen are entertaining. And don’t tell me it’s fake. Besides punches/kicks, you cannot fake impact. You fake impact by purposely falling on your back in response to a fake punch instead of collapsing from a real punch and breaking your...

Stop Using the Experssion "Owen Voicing"
I get that you’re tired of writing about poor announcing and it’s really funny to use blunt messages to get a point across, but let’s be clever enough to come up with a better way to say it.  There’s been plenty of instances of somber announcing in wrestling, and just because it’s utilized on any given night, we don’t have to pretend like Owen Hart’s death...

Can Anyone Recommend Any Decent Podcasts?
Something in the realm of the Cabana podcast, Holzerman’s The Wrestling Podcast, etc?  Just some decent wrestling convo, no bullshit about buyrates, who’s a smark, etc. etc. etc. Thanks!

joshmordecai answered your question: Three Hour Raw? poor writers. misterlorde answered your question: Three Hour Raw? Not crazy about that idea. At all. I’m definitely worried about the writing situation, too.  If it could just be a block of time for matches, it could be amazing.  I dunno, maybe give the new guys that have been showing up on smackdown some more time to go, or...

stylesclash: turnbucklezine: When people say they “want the attitude era back…” I am constantly surprised at how well adjusted I am given that I was raised on (and extremely fond of) this shit. I should have my very own Ho Train by now.  As was I.  I obviously have a fondness for this period (since I’ve been rewatching all of 97, 98, and 99), because it was the first time I started...

Quick Raw Thought
Has anyone else brought up the fact that it may be a little bit great that Daniel Bryan and CM Punk have almost zero story going into Over the Limit?  It’s ridiculously subtle, but I think it’s by design.  These two are just gonna have a good match, and they don’t have to bring in Punk’s “slutty sister” or “drunk dad” to sell it.  I’m pumped.

I still stand by everything I said, but man John Cena is the exception.  Dude is an absolute channel changer and this past monday proves that “beyond a shadow of a doubt.”

Quick Smackdown Thought
I was completely bored by every “established star” storyline (i.e. this whole 4 way thing that happened all night), but thought the new guys like Cesaro, Sandow, and the new tag team of O Neil and Young were completely entertaining.  I’m excited for the future and hope the trend of new guys continues.

rickybrugal answered your question: Question: Wonderful thoughts. I prefer the cycle we have now, but I do wonder if something like pushing NXT to main TV could be an “offseason”. Like I said in the note, giving bigger names some time off would help new faces get a chance… if Cena takes three weeks off it gives punk someone new to feud with, and gives a new guy a spot at the bottom rung to...

Question:
tomwatcheswrestling: Are you happy with the unbroken cycle of WWE programming that we currently have, where there is no off season or break? Or would you like to see WWE take on the more common model of TV programming and start having a break/off season and every year is broken up into seasons (preferably starting two/3 months after Wrestlemania and then ending with Wrestlemania)? My view:...

wrestlespective: This is the best thing I’ve written in a while. Are there actually more instances of this, though?  I don’t really feel like this is anything of the norm… maybe Triple H himself just felt like doing it.  The guy must have enough clout that he could make the choice of whether or not to wear an arm brace.  Otherwise, I don’t really see examples of...
