Botchlog: Just finished watching Extreme Rules. →
botchlog: And who was it that “convinced me” from the night of bumps, blood and beatings? Michael bloody Cole. He was flawless, perfectly enthusiastic and overall he called the matches with the appropriate gusto and genuine feeling that I have only heard from Mr Ross of late. I still don’t like his… I’ve been gradually enjoying Cole more and more, or at least the times that I...

Ring Ka King entirely on Youtube →
So, I have a youtube extension that let’s me download videos and watch them on my computer (you’d think this isn’t realy necessary but youtube’s constant loading really pisses me off sometimes. Anyone know of any other promotions that have a bulk of content on youtube?  I know ROH used to but the account was suspended.

Revealing Your Hand/Disillusionment
Let me start by saying I really enjoyed Raw.  Even the “sobriety test” segment was hilarious and continued with my belief that PUNK IS LOD 2000 (that entry wasn’t tagged and it seriously took me 10 minutes to find it).  Usually I feel like three hour Raws drag on and despite a double showing of the Lesnar promo from LAST WEEK (I loved seeing it again in the first half of the show...

No Need for Titles
goldenboylukestarr: turnbucklezine: I was pretty excited about WRP because it claimed to be all about integrated storyline, a plot, a single arc of a story over thirteen episodes, etc… now it just sounds like a shitty game show.  WRP: The Bachelor I’m really not seeing the huge difference here as far as titles go; it’s just replaced with something else, and the entire show focuses on it, which...

No Need for Titles
internationalobject: Stone muses over a title-less wrestling world: Wrestling Retribution Project could hold the answer to this question. WRP filmed an entire “season” of wrestling without a single title on the line; the promotion instead focused its story on a tournament setting where the eventual winner would receive a large cash prize for winning the tournament. In WRP’s case, cash works as...

International Object: ❖ Choose your own meaning →
internationalobject: …People fight for championships, but the championships don’t really mean anything. People fight for pride, but their pride is compromised when they lower themselves to fight. People fight for revenge, love, etc., but the people they’re fighting for would really rather have them in one piece. I’m not here to ruminate on the meaning of conflict, or what makes a conflict...

I think it's safe to say I'm done with the Brodus...
I wanted to like it, but fuck… the same thing for over 3 months, with random “modifications” here and there, and now they throw in Hornswaggle?… ? What are your thoughts now that we are 16 weeks into Brodus’ character?

This might actually be one of the worst things I’ve ever seen. WWF Raw, March 15th 1999 Note: this was followed by Tori giving maybe one of the worst promos I have ever, ever seen.

❖ Wrestlemania XXVI and Catharsis
internationalobject: This post originally appeared on March 30, 2010 at Fake Vince and  was written with his voice. I don’t want to hear two thumbs up. I don’t care about your five star rating system. I don’t care about your lists or your numbers or any sort of quantifiable data. This isn’t sports. This isn’t something you can measure. Professional Wrestling. Sports Entertainment. I really...

Mary's Perspective
Regarding the last post: The length of the match also completely made sense because Bryan’s character was that of a little squirmy douchebag who pretty much got out of all of his matches by manipulating the situation or running away.  Why would his current character just randomly put on an amazing match in the face of all of the cowardice he has shown.  It’s the only way the match...

internationalobject: Voodoo Child, replying to my Wrestlemania article: While this is a very well-written, insightful critique, and only speaking for myself, I think that while the theme was clear and meant for the casual viewer, it came at the expense of the constant fan. I feel that both the Rock/Cena and Bryan/Sheamus matches could have been presented under that “hubris is bad” banner...

hoarr asked: I think it depends on the people in the league. I've been to an independent show lately where there were only a handful of people that had talent, while the other people were seemingly looking to hit one big spot with a full disregard of their health or others. Kinda bummed me out to read about how many people on that bill ended up with injuries -- guess that doesn't matter when you only...

I read this post over on The Wrestling Blog about appreciating wrestling matches, regardless of the story around them. I always thought the general lack of story or less emphasis on story is what was great about indie wrestling, actually.  I go to admittedly too few indie shows (and probably none while I’m here in the Czech Republic… if you can imagine, from what I can tell there is zero...

Dunno if anyone has said it in so few words
but give it up to John Cena for the past year or so in terms of matches.  He lost Money in the Bank 2011, which was probably ACTUALLY the most important match of the last decade (in terms of build quality) and he lost the (hyped as) most important match of the last decade, completely clean. After winning every match ever for the better part of three years, those are two pretty damn good matches...
