Twenty years ago, we PRETENDED to hurt each other, and the fans believed it. Today, we REALLY DO hurt each other, and the fans think it’s fake. Who are the marks now??

in reference to Fuck Yeah Wrestling’s recent post, among many other reasons, I really wish Andy Kaufman were still alive so he could be a “guest host” or whatever on Raw. I mean… seriously, he would with no effort at all be the best guest host ever (granted they probably would have already done something with him during the Attitude era, but since he is dead and nothing...
nickelbackisok-deactivated20111 asked: I'm gonna review tonight's hotly anticipated Raw because I have nothing better to do. Whether it is a good review or reeks worse than the Danielson firing remains to be seen.

30 Day Wrestling Challenge
Day 24 - Most Shocking Moment
This (I think) is the only reasonable answer to this question in recent history.
I still remember taping the tribute episode the day after and watching every personality break down in front of the camera. Jeff Jarret could barely talk, Paul Bearer and Mick Foley spoke very personally, and the matches were secondary in a way that is very different to how a match...

Day 21 - Favorite Gimmick Match
I think we learn a lot of lessons in our life. Some of them happen to come from Wrestling. I was at most in 8th grade when Kane and the Undertaker were feuding, and at some point fire became a focal point (regarding their parents being killed in a fire, I guess). This led to the concept of the Inferno Match. I was so pumped. “DUDE, they have to be set on...
thnx!
Just wanted to say thanks to Fuck Yeah Wrestling for linking me! And thanks to those who have added me as a result.

You can stream the new Joie de Vivre (the band I’m in) album off punknews.org, if interested.
We’re touring also. I only have a few followers on here I don’t know, but if we have a show near you you should check it out!
Rocky IV should have ended this way.

Aside from how ludicrously badass the final twenty minutes of Raw were (I had rare access to cable television and was able to watch the episode live but, I shit you not, it was so bad I fell asleep, woke up at 10:45 and READ about this. Ugh), did anyone else notice that when the timekeeper got punched, the bell was (in my opinion) hilariously comically rung until it just sort of faded out?
Also,...

Day 19 - Most Underrated Wrestler
I wish I hadn’t used Motor City Machine Guns as favorite tag team (or wish I could have thought of another team I liked more), because they are definitely two of the most underrated by management wrestlers I have maybe ever seen. They have won tag championships in other organizations, but TNA constantly jobs these guys out and has never put the belts on...

Day 18 - Most Overrated Wrestler
God I hated Bill Goldberg from the start. He had no character, a stupid barb wire tattoo that I guess was supposed to be his “flair,” and a total of about 4 moves (granted his matches were never booked to last more than 45 seconds but whatever).
The older I get and the more I learn about wrestling at that time the more I realized what a sham the...

Until I Was Forced to Turn Off Raw
6/7/09
It has been a few weeks since I watched Raw, but I’m back with my new review of this week’s 3 hour viewer’s choice special. Due to some problems with lawn maintenance I was unable to watch the first few minutes but came in just in time to see the Big Show face off against Jericho in a joke of a body slam competition. It was good to see the Big Show get some pay back for...
Is Bubba the Love Sponge dead yet? Seriously.
If I knew anything in the slightest about webdesign I would make a page called Is Bubba Dead Yet? (similar to http://www.abevigoda.com/)

Day 17 - First Wrestling Memory
In 7th grade a bunch of friends started bugging me… “dude, you gotta start watching wrestling, it’s awesome!” As I have stated before, my parents were never exactly too keen on wrestling and would not say anything terribly positive about it. As a result of this, my response was usually, “nah, that sounds dumb.”
At some point,...

People Who Make Fun of People That Watch Wrestling
I have been watching wrestling for a total of about 7 years (non-consecutive years). I have met people who also enjoy wrestling and it is cool. I have met people who don’t like wrestling and that can be cool, too. The people that make fun of wrestling are the subject of this article (obviously). If you go out of your way to identify all of wrestling’s absurdities in order to make...

Day 15 - Favorite Pay Per View or Show

ECW Barely Legal ‘97
This was a pretty important pay per view, or at least at the time it was thought to be a corner turning ppv for ECW. This ppv was going to bring ECW to the mainstream, get em a great TV deal, all that.
Obviously it didn’t quite work out that way but you can still feel the...
30 Day Wrestling Challenge
I know I thought of something for Best Gimmick, like, 4 days ago, but for the life of me I can not remember what it was and I know if was a good idea. Dang.
I liked that Tommy Dreamer never beat Raven and never won the ECW title (until the end and there was no one left to put it on), but I don’t know if that would be considered a “gimmick.” Cant. Think.

Day 11 - Favorite Manager
Given that a few responses to this have been the Undertaker related, this should be obvious, and I’m not sure much explanation is necessary. He was a treacherous little bastard and was great because of it.
Day 12 - Funniest Moment
Already posted a video of this, but I think my favorite moment was built off the Ron...
